Ktm carb Empty Ktm carb

Post by Mogs Mon Oct 07, 2013 1:08 pm

My 300 was using fuel like its no tomorrow. Took carb appart looked at needle it was on second from bottom so went up one notch, much better on fuel now.

Seems to be running fine, do I need to adjust anything else?? Someone mentioned mixture screw? I don't know how you set that up correct??!?

Any help is appreciated, cheers

mixture screw is for only the pilote jet (closed throttle to 1/4 open) buy adusting the clip you have just altered the 1/4 to 3/4 throttle

main jet is for 3/4 to wot (wide open throtle)

No need to change anything by adjusting the clip on the needle, the main jet will make a difference in how the bike runs, I
took my gasser down from a 180 to a 175' felt very different for the first couple of rides! Seems better on fuel too now.....

I would do what Bonkeye suggests, do a plug chop. If you run it too lean, on a damp day you could seize it.
