North Wales weekend
Drove up early Saturday morning to meet the die-hard's who's camped Friday night, as they were about to get up and start complaining of hangovers and sub-zero tempratures
Even Brownie who had electric blankets, a heater and hot water - shame really there was nowhere for him to plug it all into though
But a bit of sun and a dippy egg later everyone looked happier
Maybe not!
New boot's by any chance Joss??
The second lane wasn't a lane at all, but a bloody deep, wide and fast moving river
An almost drowned bike (vid to follow!) and boot's filled up to the top with water later, we discovered Joss had either had inside info about the river and wisely skipped it or been knobbing about at the camp site and not noticed when a dozen bikes rode off - was probably showing the other campers his new boots!!
After rounding him up, we moved on to open mountain top's with plenty of nice fast and flowing trails with fantastic views in every direction
Eventually stopping at a pub for lunch
Then more (much more!) of the same fantastic stuff before going back through the dreaded river to top up our boot's and actually drown a few bike's (including mine!) this time
After a bit of bike un-drowning practice it was back to the camp site for a shower, something to eat and few beers, rough cider or glass of Pinot Grigio if you're posh
Then Joss kept us all riveted with a few of his stories
That did last quite a while!!
6 hours of bugger all sleep later (they weren't moaning about the cold for nothing as it turned out!) it was time to get up for a mooch about and count the bikes
But the sun soon came up, to what looked like another cracking day
Breakfast varied from cold beans, leftover barbeque stuff (the sausages tasted far better than the burned chicken ) burnt bacon sarnies or croissants - guess who favoured the lightly warmed croissant?
Me and Denzil unfortunately then had to head back, and leave 'em to it
Thanks everyone for all the fun and entertainment, but especially Denzil for doing tail ender duty and obviously Wolfy for again making it all happen and leading
