Milord. It does appear that in picture "A" man in blue does have the lead...  

Looks like the man in blue was trying to cut the man in black off pushing him to the out side line   

OK, OK, it's a fair cop guv - I did 'im proper and now plead guilty  
But in my defence if anyone deserved it, he did 

Man in blue is obviously much younger fitter and quicker than the OAP yet the OAP didn't want to be put out to pasture so it would seem resorted to dirty tactics.
OAP got sucked into the same sort of thing later in the day only this time he was put out to pasture eating the quicker riders dust.

So, unsuprisingly it sounds like an elderly gentleman on a mere 250 is no match for a finely honed young athlete on a 450?

Especially when they sneak up behind them and blast past without warning though 

Gentleman   Have said gentleman thought about fitting rear view mirrors?
Maybe of help if his hearing is starting to fail him with age.
