Re: Barmouth Two Day
Day One...................
Woke to the sound of thunder & it pissing down at 5.00am but past over by 6.45am
So met up with the first group & headed towards Talgarth, bit of confusion on meeting point lead jams to dart up the road to join the first group which was now 9 riders
Steve was well packed up & even brought his pet dog
Couple of little trails to warm up
Before we met up with the special forces
And the rest of the second group now making 16 riders
Then headed North did ride into rain showers which were heavy but only lasted a hour or two, then the sun came back out to play
Wished I had stuck around at that crossing with the camera, heard later steve was the only one to go for a swim in that one
Bumped into the west side group on route which was great, they had started at 6.00am & looked like they had seen more mud than we had
Nice little puddle
Spot the jibbers
Happy Valley
Then some awesome view's
Only one puncture & no bike probs we all arrived at Barmouth with the sun still shining too!
Excellent meal & a few beer's followed, with great company & a giggle
Cheers Guys

Re: Barmouth Two Day
Firstly thanks to everyone along for making this such a fun and memorable trip, but obviously a massive thanks to Wolfy for going to all the effort of putting the whole thing together
Some pic's.......
Met the main group in a wet Glasbury
ET James petrol stop - where it really started to piss down
Puncture break - but the only one all weekend
Chris our trusty tail ender
Met up with Graham and group in the middle of nowhere
About a 100 miles of brilliant trails and improving weather later we got the first glimpse of the sea
Corporal Joss was so happy it moved him to tears
Then it all went back to a normal SWTR day out!
Oh oh, here comes trouble
Happy Valley next - brilliant apart from an 'inappropriate overtake attempt' - you know who you are
Mel looking cool
Jams looking good
Denzil looking fast
And Gareth, looking like Gareth
The 'inappropriate overtaker' leaving the scene of the crime
Fag break in the sun
Possibly Barmouth
Onwards and downwards
Nearly there - just what felt like a pavement along side a railway line to go!?
To my cell for the night
Views from the window were good, breakfast good, owners good and at 20 quid all good really
Luckily forgot to take a camera to the pub so no evidence of Mel doing the Salsa or James drinking the place dry of Jack Daniels etc
Up at sparrow fart to a hectic Barmouth!
But the rest of the group were soon up and about, and rearing to go
Leaving sunny Barmouth behind
Business as usual - hopefully Wolfy got a pic before it was dragged out of the ditch
Chris looking very majestic
Never seen a tractor with tyres below the legal limit before!
Llanedlois for lunch
A very weary looking traveller there!
Bit of a 'teapot' moment from Wolfy
Time to take in the view
Too slow again - but he can be rather sprightly for a 'large framed' gentleman when there's a camera is about
Next petrol stop and the JD is taking it's toll
Still hanging on to that 'ol peace pipe thing though!
Bottom of Strada at about 5.30 waiting for a drowning victim
Last petrol and cake stop at Beulah - where I discovered my phone was now in Harlech after being found on a mountain top by a lovely walker who is posting it back to me (might keep quiet about being a trail rider for now though!)
Then a quick blast home after one of the best (and longest, at 299.3 miles!) trail rides ever
Thanks again all
