That lane is worthy of two names mufy.....
I would rather ride the corkscrew which is bad enough, having a go at the devils staircase with a group.......
Never tried it up mind....so maybe one day

Nice one chris yes paul &paul had a good day really enjoyed it. That photo of me going under the tree on the staircase looks a bit scary with that cut of branch just missing my head

Great photos! I made it out to Tintern area finally on Saturday with a pal. I have to say there was some awesome lanes - in fact Pant Glas was ace and probably harder going down than up!
Not sure whether the staircase was one of the lanes but one had a fallen tree (I think) and we had to backtrack maybe 20 metres and could see a path off to the right and then went up the best legal lane I've ever ridden! Not much roadwork either!
Think we missed a few out but wasn't 100% where all the legal lanes were!

Sounds like you could have been on the staircase, there is a tree that blocks the lane but only seen it coming down on my right.
And you would have to backtrack to get up on to the bank...after that you would have come to a like end of a forestry road then turned right to get to the top with a tricky right turn
Fairplay if you rode that

Yep thats definitely the one...we went up on the bank to our right and then came to a little clearing (had a breather!) and then off up to the right! Was breathing well by the top!haha and yes there was a tricky right hander (think I went left and my mate Tom went right)
I'm sure there are plenty more legal trails around the area...we both agreed the lanes were some of the best we have ridden! Cant wait to get back over and hopefully hook up with some of you guys to show us some more hidden gems!

Then I guess you rode up the slab above the abbey too....there is plenty more legal lanes in the area but tend to get more scenic after them

Yes we parked down near St Arvans and then 1st lane we did ran down to the abbey so think that must be the slab. We rode back up it as the last lane of the day and think thats where I broke a hand guard! We met some 4x4 chaps who were clearing all the fallen trees - shame they hadn't done it earlier that morning as I managed to garrot myself in the first 5 mins!ha!
