KTM 400 exc

putting my lovely 400 up for sale.when i bought this bike around march 2011 it was to all intents and purposes new.when jeff,an aquaintence through the old SWTRF wheeled it out of his garage i was shocked to see how good it was.then i discovered that it had barely turned a wheel and the hour meter was showing twelve,i had to have it.before you start thinking "what the fuck is it with this bloke and this jackanory bollocks?" i better put up a pic or two.

the bike has been properly maintained,never raced or ragged.i'm not one of these blokes who revs their bikes before stamping it into gear and its always allowed to warm up before its revved.

it has a few upgrades,billet triples,PHDS clamps,easy clutch and i've played around with the forks and they now have a much improved action over stock.

before a trip to rhayader a few weeks ago it had brake pads and wheel bearings front and rear,a new  mich S12 140 tyre.after returning the oil was changed and a new air filter fitted.the chain and sprockets have plenty of life left as does the front tyre.valve clearances were checked about 50hrs ago and hadn't moved(clean air filters).

11 months mot and six months tax.

i'm after £2550 with the bits,£2400 back to standard.this may appear to be top book but its not your usual rubbish and i believe its worth paying a couple of hundred more to get a sound,looked after example.

thanks for the vote of confidence jer.not finishing all together mate,got my boys yam here which is a cracking bike,the front end of which is a joy after ktm's.even though it would be considered ancient nowadays.

better in two ways paul.when i had the bars in the rearmost position on the stock clamps it was great sitting down but felt cramped standing.it was the reverse the opposite way so just put up with it and got used to it in the closest and as it happens lowest position.fitted the clamps and they gave me extra rise which felt perfect as soon as i got aboard,fecking chuffed.the elastomers take the sting out of rocky stuff so ideal for an old fart like me.

i hope my going on about reach and hight doesn't give anyone the thought that i think i'm hot shit or anything its just that i like to get things right if its possible.years gone by it was just bar height and sweep you could feck with,as you know mate.
