Found it, good tip rich about jacking it up and running it while looking, it is the metail oil pipe that runs under the engine on the left hand side. It must have a microscopic hole as you cant even see it but as soon as the oil got pumping a small drip appeared. Now the question is where do I get a replacement? I dont know how the damage occurred though as this pipe is well protected by the sump guard / bash plate

no appeared to be solid and the oil bubble drip appeared in the middle of the hose not on or near either of the ends. Cant find any on the web so will need to ring around in the morning - any shops you would recommend? I have taken some pics but I have left my phone lead in work will post them up tomorrow

You sure its not coming from the oring where it meets the engine?

Looks like an impact just facing the back of the bike or is that the front...somthing like this is common on Bmw xchallenge apparently oil feed very close to sump guard and damages when guard receives impact.

How much clearance is there between pipe and sump guard?

Be supprised if its the pipe?

Usually oring disturbed but is that a hair line crack in the casing just above the pipe obviously difficult to tell...?
