    EXC 250 brake lights...

Post by azzy2007 on Fri Apr 20, 2012 6:17 pm

Hi guys just wanderedn if anybody had any ideas on this little problem...

I have just sorted my bike out for its MOT on monday but wanted to sort the lights out for full mot but the brake lights dont work atall...

I have tried a few bulbs which are all working fine, its just the brake light that doesnt work as the drive lights do

Would it be a problem with a switch or a split connector somewhere???

Sorry if this is vague but any more details please ask...help much appreciated

You might find its the bulb socket, take it out & give it a good clean try it when its out if no joy push the bulb in tighter with your hand & try.
If it works then you need a new socket.....multimeter the wires if that don't work.

I will give it a try in the morning, i will have to try borrow a multimeter from someone, as i broke mine a few weeks ago
hopefully i can get it sorted for Monday, if not will be 'hiding' the lights for the test and getting the day MOT on it

had this problem.. was the bulb socket.. when the bulb was pushed right in by hand itr would work.. otherwise it wouldnt. bodged it by putting some tinfoil between the two

managed to sort the light out, gave it all a good clean (terminals/connectors)
but now i have found the front brake switch is broken so on the hunt for 1 of them now
