over revving dt Empty over revving dt

i kinda think carburetors are the dark arts, but could there be a few simple things to check before i've gotta take it to the man, the dt won't come down below 3 thousand revs, fecked about with the idle screw without any changes happening, no air gaps in the air filter/cylinder head connections does come a down a bit when the choke is on full, and when you take it on a long journey it goes down to normal revs......cheers

new petrol tap was fitted, but maybe shit got through before it was fitted looking like a strip down Crying or Very sad

Have you taken the cab off yet? Shouldent be that hard to do on a old smoker.

yea did it today it's in the living room, and all my bitches are moaning about the smell of petrol, don't know how cat gets round this problem

might be a stupid idea but have you checked if the throttle cable is damaged!

oh yea plenty of that miller lol! think i've found the problem after wriggling the carb out "worn float valve" and the powers that be at yamaha only sell the complete kit don't sell individual piece's so gotta fork out 32 quid affraid
