It might just turn out to be a daft idea, and i'll see sense when it comes down to it.
But there is an event called The Exeter Trial that starts from Cirencester (and 2 other places) at 8.00 pm in the first week of January.
Meets at midnight at the Hayes Motor Museum, then continues to Torbay by morning via lanes where there are 'special sections' along the way
I have got a feeling when setting off in the dark, on a cold frosty/wet night when most old buggers of my age are sat by the fire, it might seem like a really stupid idea rather than just a daft one though
