Battery upgrade Empty Battery upgrade

Do'nt no if this is old news but my 06 ktm battery is shit, this time of year? cold heated grips litghs on stuck in bogs helping mates trying to find neutral or starting it in gear, anyway it's a simple job.

1 Don't bye standard battery ask for ytx7l-bs 12v 6ah ( standard is a ytx5l - 4ah ) the only diffrance is the 12 6ah is 20mm heigher.
( check were you bye, specalist battery Man said £ 39.50 and wasn't putting vat up till march, i payed £ 25 Ray Cowles Pontypool )

2 I took the battery box off 3 6mm bolts, using hack saw blade cut the bottom section out so the battery couid slide down more.

3 Then got a peace of thin steel about 100mm long 25mm wide with 13mm hole drilled in one end.

4 Fit the battery box backin just the top 2 bolts get your peace of steel place it behind the battery box with hole at bottom fixing point, hold new battery in box upto the top & mark steel at bottom of battery, bend steel 90 degees & bolt it in.

5 i put 2 peace's of old inner tube over bottom bolt to stop it rubbing on battery bunge's on job done.
know you got 6amp instead of 4 amp

No! not in most situations, yet conditions can change & the harder it gets the less you won't want to kick it. Also nice to start it in gear at the start line ? i changed mine cos being 5.8 ft tall & legs like chop sticks i need the button Very Happy
